160mm Recticel Eurothane GP PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet

160mm Recticel Eurothane GP PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet

160mm is the thickest board Recticel offers in the Eurothane GP range, and with it comes the highest thermal resistance the line provides. The construction is the same proven recipe used across every thickness, a closed-cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam core bonded between two gas diffusion tight, low-emissivity foil facings, applied here at maximum depth for pitched roofs, framed walls and floors, including those served by underfloor heating.

One 2400mm x 1200mm board covers 2.88m² and arrives as a single sheet. Its declared thermal resistance (R-value) is 7.25 m²K/W, drawn from a declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK, the most a single Eurothane GP board can return, which is why 160mm tends to be specified where targets are tight and a second insulation layer is best avoided.

In common with the rest of the family, the board has square edges that press together along each run so the insulation stays unbroken and heat finds fewer paths around it; the factory-printed grid on both faces keeps cuts straight even at this depth. The foil facings add to performance when set against an adjacent air space, and the rigid closed-cell core neither takes up water nor loses its shape over the years.

On floors it sits above a damp-proof membrane in solid and suspended slabs and in upgrades to existing ones; in pitched roofs it works between, over or beneath the rafters, including loft conversions chasing habitable-standard warmth; in framed walls it drops between studs or runs as a continuous lining, and it can face solid masonry on the inside. Where a build-up has to go deeper still, a second board is added with its joints offset. Fit it in line with Recticel's current technical guidance and the project specification, and bring internal walls to a finish with plasterboard rather than working plaster or paint straight onto the foil. From new build held to strict figures to deep refurbishment, 160mm Eurothane GP gives the most a single board in this range can.

Key Benefits of 160mm Recticel Eurothane GP:

  • The thickest board in the Eurothane GP range, for maximum single-layer thermal performance.
  • Declared R-value (thermal resistance) of 7.25 m²K/W, the highest in the range.
  • Declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK across the full PIR core.
  • Lets one layer replace what would otherwise take two thinner boards, keeping build-ups simpler.
  • Square edges that press together to hold the insulation layer unbroken and curb thermal bridging.
  • Twin gas diffusion tight, low-emissivity foil facings, with a printed cutting grid on each side.
  • Rigid closed-cell core that neither absorbs water nor distorts over time.
  • Compressive strength of at least 120 kPa for use within floor build-ups (confirm against the full system).
  • Scores, snaps and cuts with a knife or fine-toothed saw, handling like the rest of the range despite the depth.
  • Blown with agents of zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP).
  • Supplied as one 2400mm x 1200mm board covering 2.88m².

Good to know:

  • Moisture resistant but not waterproof: keep boards flat, dry and off the ground, out of direct sun, and don't stand on stacked boards.
  • A standard board measures 2.4m x 1.2m for 2.88m² of cover.
  • 160mm is the top of the range; where more depth is still needed, add a second board with staggered, tightly butted joints (thicker layer outermost) and tape the joints.
  • Bespoke cutting is available, find out more here.
  • Recticel's pitched roof and floor specification guides cover rafter and floor build-ups in detail.

At the top of the range with a declared 7.25 m²K/W, 160mm Recticel Eurothane GP is the board to specify when a single layer has to deliver the maximum, pairing the range's best thermal resistance with the same straightforward handling.
