40mm Recticel Eurothane GP PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet
Recticel Eurothane GP in 40mm is a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) board aimed at projects that need one product to cover several jobs. At this thickness it earns its keep across floors, framed walls, ceilings and pitched roofs: fitting between and over timber joists, going down under screeded and floating floors, and lining internal walls behind plasterboard.
The board comes as a standard 2400mm x 1200mm sheet covering 2.88m², with the PIR core sandwiched between gas-tight foil facings. Thermal conductivity sits at 0.022 W/mK, which at 40mm works out to a thermal resistance of around 1.80 m²K/W, and the core carries a compressive strength of at least 120 kPa, enough to take floor loadings in a typical domestic build-up.
Those twin foil facings do more than reflect heat. They give the board high resistance to moisture vapour, so it holds its thermal performance rather than degrading in damp conditions. The square edges are made to butt up tight, with joints taped or filled so the insulation layer stays continuous and thermal bridging is kept down.
On site, 40mm Eurothane GP suits new build and refurbishment alike, and pairs with both wet and electric underfloor heating, including beneath a screed. Install it to the current Recticel technical guidance, the relevant specification guide and the project specification. Being light and easy to score and snap with a sharp knife or fine-toothed saw, it keeps handling and fitting quick.
Key Benefits of 40mm Recticel Eurothane GP:
- One general-purpose 40mm board for floors, framed walls, ceilings and pitched roofs, reducing the need to stock multiple products on a job.
- 0.022 W/mK thermal conductivity, giving a thermal resistance of around 1.80 m²K/W at 40mm.
- Compressive strength of at least 120 kPa, so it stands up to domestic floor loadings.
- Fits between and over joists, under screeds and behind plasterboard wall linings.
- Twin gas-tight foil facings for high resistance to moisture vapour and lasting thermal performance.
- Works with wet and electric underfloor heating, including under a screed.
- Square edges that butt together tightly to limit thermal bridging.
- Light to handle and quick to cut to size on site.
- Stable in damp conditions, so performance does not drop off over time.
- Blown with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP) agents, free from CFCs and HCFCs.
- Reaction to fire classified Euroclass F to BS EN 13501-1.
Good to know:
- PIR is moisture resistant but not waterproof. Keep boards dry, off the ground and covered, out of direct sunlight, and set aside any that have got wet.
- One board is 2.4m x 1.2m and covers 2.88m².
- Cuts cleanly with a sharp knife or insulation saw.
- Need a non-standard size? Our bespoke cutting service can help.
- Recticel's pitched roof specification guide covers roof build-ups.
- Recticel's floor specification guide walks through solid and under-screed floor types.
A flexible 40mm board that turns its hand to most elements of a build, Recticel Eurothane GP keeps specification simple while supporting better energy efficiency and a more comfortable finished space.
