60mm Celotex GA4060 PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet

60mm Celotex GA4060 PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet

60mm Celotex GA4060 PIR Insulation Board is a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board from the general-purpose GA4000 range, sitting one step above the 50mm board in thermal performance. It is designed for use across walls, floors and roofs, and is a common choice where a 60mm board is specified, or where 50mm falls just short of the required thermal resistance.

Each board measures 2400mm x 1200mm x 60mm and is sold individually, covering 2.88m² per board. It carries a declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK and a thermal resistance of 2.70 m²K/W, a useful uplift over the 50mm board that still keeps the insulation layer slim while moving a build-up closer to its target U-value.

At the core of the board is a closed-cell PIR foam, faced on both sides with a low-emissivity aluminium foil. That foil does more than protect the core: where it faces a sealed or cavity air space, the reflective surface lifts the thermal performance the build-up can achieve. The straight, square edges let boards sit flush against one another, so joints stay tight and the insulation layer reads as continuous across walls, floors and roofs.

In practice, 60mm GA4060 is specified in timber-framed walls, internal dry lining to masonry, suspended timber and concrete floors, and pitched roofs between or under rafters, with flat-roof build-ups also within the GA4000 range's scope. As with any PIR board, it should be fitted in line with the latest Celotex technical guidance, the project specification and current Building Regulations, including the height restriction on external wall use. That versatility is the point: one board type carries across several elements of a project, on new build and refurbishment alike.

Key Benefits of 60mm Celotex GA4060:

  • 60mm rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board from the multi-application GA4000 range, for walls, floors and roofs.
  • Thermal resistance (R-value) of 2.70 m²K/W, a step up from the 50mm board.
  • Declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK for efficient performance in a slim board.
  • Low-emissivity aluminium foil facings on both sides, lifting performance against sealed and cavity air spaces.
  • Straight, square edges for tight joints and a continuous insulation layer.
  • Rigid yet light, so boards are simple to transport, handle and cut on site with standard tools.
  • Closed-cell PIR core with good resistance to moisture pick-up.
  • Manufactured with a blowing agent of zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP), free of CFCs and HCFCs.
  • Supplied as a single 2400mm x 1200mm board covering 2.88m².
  • BBA certified (Certificate 25/7318) for defined pitched roof, dry lining and floor applications.

Good to know:

  • Boards measure 2400mm x 1200mm and are sold individually, each covering 2.88m².
  • The foil facing is printed on one side only: fit the board with the plain face towards the cavity to achieve the rated thermal performance.
  • Where a project needs more than 60mm, GA4060 can be combined with other thicknesses to build up to a target U-value.
  • Celotex GA4000 should not be used in the external walls of buildings over 11 metres in height; check current Building Regulations for your project.
  • PIR is moisture resistant but not waterproof: keep boards dry on site and store them flat, off the ground and out of prolonged sunlight.
  • Insulation UK offers a bespoke cutting service, so boards can be supplied cut to your sizes to reduce waste and on-site mess.
  • The U-value of the finished element depends on the full build-up, not the board alone: confirm the target for your application before ordering.

A measured step up from the entry-level board, 60mm Celotex GA4060 adds useful thermal resistance without adding bulk, keeping specification simple and installation quick across walls, floors and roofs.
