60mm Recticel Eurothane GP PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet
60mm Recticel Eurothane GP is among the most widely used thicknesses in the range, valued for the balance it strikes between thermal performance and board depth. Built from a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) core with gas-tight foil facings, it suits pitched roofs, timber and metal framed walls, ceilings and floors, and is a common choice as insulated sheathing on framed-wall builds.
Each 2400mm x 1200mm board covers 2.88m² and combines a 0.022 W/mK thermal conductivity with a thermal resistance of around 2.70 m²K/W. Sitting in the range's higher strength tier, it carries a compressive strength of at least 140 kPa, so it copes with the loadings in screeded and boarded floors as readily as it performs in walls and roofs.
The low-emissivity foil on both faces gives high resistance to moisture vapour, so the board keeps its thermal performance rather than absorbing water and sagging over time. Square edges let boards butt up tightly across the build, and with joints taped or filled as specified, the insulation layer stays continuous and thermal bridging is minimised.
In framed walls it can be fitted between studs or over them as insulated sheathing; elsewhere it goes between and over joists, beneath screeds, and between rafters in pitched roofs. It is compatible with both wet and electric underfloor heating. Install it to the current Recticel technical guidance, the relevant specification guide and the project specification. Light and easy to score and cut with a sharp knife or fine-toothed saw, it keeps fitting quick on site.
Key Benefits of 60mm Recticel Eurothane GP:
- One of the most widely specified thicknesses, used in framed walls between or over studs, plus floors, ceilings and pitched roofs.
- 0.022 W/mK thermal conductivity, giving around 2.70 m²K/W of thermal resistance from a single 60mm layer.
- Compressive strength of at least 140 kPa for screeded and boarded floor build-ups.
- Suitable as insulated sheathing on timber and metal framed walls.
- Gas-tight foil facings on both sides for high moisture vapour resistance and lasting performance.
- Compatible with wet and electric underfloor heating.
- Square edges for tight butt-jointing and reduced thermal bridging.
- Light to handle and easy to cut to size on site.
- Resists moisture, so it will not sag or lose thermal performance over time.
- Blown with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP) agents, free from CFCs and HCFCs.
- Reaction to fire classified Euroclass F to BS EN 13501-1.
Good to know:
- PIR is moisture resistant but not waterproof. Keep boards dry, off the ground and covered, out of direct sunlight, and set aside any that have got wet.
- One board is 2.4m x 1.2m and covers 2.88m².
- Cuts cleanly with a sharp knife or insulation saw.
- Need a non-standard size? Our bespoke cutting service can help.
- Recticel's pitched roof specification guide covers roof build-ups.
- Recticel's floor specification guide walks through solid and under-screed floor types.
A versatile, widely-specified 60mm board that performs across walls, floors and roofs alike, Recticel Eurothane GP keeps specification straightforward while supporting better energy efficiency and a more comfortable building.
