80mm Celotex GA4080 PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet
Towards the upper end of the general-purpose GA4000 range, 80mm Celotex GA4080 is a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board for floors, walls and roofs. It is the thickness to reach for when the mid-range boards fall just short of a target U-value but a move to the thicker XR4000 range is not yet warranted.
At 2400mm x 1200mm x 80mm, each board covers 2.88m² and is sold individually. It carries a declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK and a thermal resistance of 3.60 m²K/W, the highest single-board figure short of the 90mm and 100mm boards, while still weighing a manageable 2.96 kg per square metre.
The closed-cell PIR core gives the board the rigidity to sit in floor build-ups as well as walls and roofs, and both faces are finished with a low-emissivity aluminium foil that adds performance where the board meets a sealed cavity air space. Square edges butt together without a profile to align, keeping the fit quick and the insulation layer continuous so heat is not lost through poorly closed joints.
80mm GA4080 is at home in floor build-ups working towards tighter U-value targets, in pitched roofs fitted between or under rafters, and in timber-framed walls and internal dry lining, with flat-roof build-ups also within the GA4000 range's scope. It should be installed to the latest Celotex technical guidance, the project specification and current Building Regulations, including the height limit on external wall use. On new build or refurbishment, the 80mm board hands specifiers extra single-layer resistance while keeping the familiar GA4000 board format.
Key Benefits of 80mm Celotex GA4080:
- 80mm rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board from the multi-application GA4000 range, for floors, walls and roofs.
- Thermal resistance (R-value) of 3.60 m²K/W, among the strongest single-board figures in the GA4000 range.
- Declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK, holding the build-up depth down for a demanding U-value.
- A higher-performing GA4000 thickness for floors and roofs targeting tighter U-values.
- Low-emissivity aluminium foil facings on both sides, adding performance against sealed and cavity air spaces.
- Square edges for quick, flush, gap-minimising joints.
- Rigid and still manageable at 2.96 kg per square metre, straightforward to handle and cut on site.
- Manufactured with a blowing agent of zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP), free of CFCs and HCFCs.
- Supplied as a single 2400mm x 1200mm board covering 2.88m².
- BBA certified (Certificate 25/7318) for defined pitched roof, dry lining and floor applications.
Good to know:
- Boards measure 2400mm x 1200mm and are sold individually, each covering 2.88m².
- The foil facing is printed on one side only: fit the board with the plain face towards the cavity for the rated thermal performance.
- For U-value targets beyond a single 80mm layer, the board can be doubled up, or look to the thicker XR4000 range (110mm and above).
- Celotex GA4000 should not be used in the external walls of buildings over 11 metres in height; check current Building Regulations for your project.
- PIR is moisture resistant but not waterproof: store boards flat, off the ground, dry and out of prolonged sunlight.
- Insulation UK offers a bespoke cutting service, supplying boards cut to your sizes to reduce waste and on-site mess.
- The U-value of the finished element depends on the full build-up, not the board alone: confirm your target before ordering.
Bringing extra single-layer resistance to floors, walls and roofs, 80mm Celotex GA4080 lets you push towards tighter U-values while keeping the GA4000 board easy to specify and quick to fit.
