90mm Recticel Eurothane GP PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet
90mm Recticel Eurothane GP is the thickness most often reached for in timber and metal framed walls, where Recticel's own guidance points to 90mm fitted between studs as a common single-layer build-up. It is a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) core faced both sides with low-emissivity foil, suited to framed walls, pitched roofs, floors and ceilings across new build and refurbishment.
Each 2400mm x 1200mm board covers 2.88m² and pairs a 0.022 W/mK thermal conductivity with a thermal resistance of around 4.05 m²K/W, one of the stronger single-layer figures in the range. A compressive strength of at least 140 kPa means it also stands up to screeded and boarded floor loadings, so a single board type can serve walls, roofs and floors on the same project.
Fitted between studs it sits within the wall depth without eating into internal space, and as roofs need more, 90mm boards double up neatly between rafters with joints staggered between layers. The low-emissivity foil facings keep moisture vapour resistance high so performance holds over time, while the square edges butt together tightly: tape or fill the joints as specified to keep the insulation layer continuous and limit thermal bridging.
It works in framed walls (between studs or as part of a lined build-up), pitched roofs (between or over rafters), ground floors (including under screed and over underfloor heating) and ceilings. Install to the current Recticel technical guidance, the relevant specification guide and the project specification, confirming the U-value for your build-up. Cut cleanly with a sharp knife or fine-toothed saw.
Key Benefits of 90mm Recticel Eurothane GP:
- A go-to 90mm thickness for timber and metal framed walls, commonly fitted between studs.
- 0.022 W/mK thermal conductivity, giving a strong single-layer thermal resistance of around 4.05 m²K/W.
- Compressive strength of at least 140 kPa for screeded and boarded floor build-ups.
- Suitable for framed walls, pitched roofs, floors and ceilings.
- Doubles up between rafters with staggered joints where roofs need more.
- Compatible with wet and electric underfloor heating, including under a screed.
- Low-emissivity foil facings on both sides for high moisture vapour resistance and lasting performance.
- Closed-cell structure that resists mould and mildew.
- Square edges for tight butt-jointing and reduced thermal bridging.
- UK-manufactured, light to handle and easy to cut to size on site.
- Blown with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP) agents, free from CFCs and HCFCs.
Good to know:
- PIR is moisture resistant but not waterproof. Keep boards dry, off the ground and covered, out of direct sunlight, and set aside any that have got wet.
- One board is 2.4m x 1.2m and covers 2.88m².
- Cuts cleanly with a sharp knife or insulation saw.
- Need a non-standard size? Our bespoke cutting service can help.
- Recticel's pitched roof specification guide covers roof build-ups.
- Recticel's floor specification guide walks through solid and under-screed floor types.
A higher-performing 90mm board built for framed walls and ready to double up in roofs, Recticel Eurothane GP keeps specification simple while supporting better energy efficiency and lasting comfort.
