150mm EPS External Wall Insulation 1200mm x 600mm - 0.72m2 per sheet
Sold in packs of 8
150mm EPS External Wall Insulation is a graphite-enhanced expanded polystyrene (EPS) board for external wall insulation (EWI) systems, used where a wall needs a substantial thermal upgrade in a single layer. At 150mm it tends to appear on larger dwellings and mid-rise buildings, and because expanded polystyrene is a combustible material, building height is the governing check: as a fire-retardant grade EPS with a Euroclass E reaction to fire, it is used within tested render systems on buildings up to 18m, with non-combustible insulation required above that height.
Each board measures 1200mm x 600mm and is supplied 8 boards to a pack for 5.76m² of coverage. It carries a declared thermal conductivity of 0.030 W/mK and a thermal resistance of 5.00 m²K/W*, so a single 150mm layer of graphite EPS delivers markedly more resistance than a white EPS board of the same thickness, where a higher lambda gives a lower R-value.
Reaching 5.00 m²K/W in one board counts on site. The wall gets its full insulation depth from a single layer rather than two thinner boards laminated together, so there is no intermediate joint to line through and the adhesive and fixing go on as one operation. The board still cuts on a hot-wire cutter or fine-tooth saw and rasps back flat for the basecoat.
150mm EPS External Wall Insulation is installed as part of a complete EWI system: bonded with an adhesive mortar, secured with longer mechanical fixings sized for the depth, then rasped level, mesh-reinforced in a basecoat and finished with render. It suits solid brickwork, timber frame and steel frame walls up to 18m, and should be installed to the system provider's instructions, the Stylite EWI datasheet and the project specification, with reveals, sills and beads detailed to take the 150mm standoff. The system's reaction to fire and overall fire performance are established by testing the complete build-up, not the board in isolation.
Key Benefits of 150mm EPS External Wall Insulation:
- 150mm graphite-enhanced expanded polystyrene (EPS) board for external wall insulation systems.
- Declared thermal conductivity of 0.030 W/mK, well ahead of white EPS at the same thickness.
- Thermal resistance of 5.00 m²K/W* for the 150mm board.
- Deep single-layer insulation, avoiding the need to laminate two thinner boards.
- Fire-retardant grade EPS with a Euroclass E reaction to fire, for use in systems on buildings up to 18m.
- Compatible with adhesive and mechanically fixed EWI systems.
- Suitable for solid brickwork, timber frame and steel frame constructions.
- Insulates the external face of the wall, reducing the risk of interstitial condensation.
- Cuts with a hot-wire cutter or fine-tooth saw and rasps back to a flat render base.
- 100% recyclable, with zero GWP and no CFCs, HCFCs or HFCs.
Good to know:
- Grade: PlusTherm 70: thermal conductivity 0.030 W/mK; compressive strength 70 kPa at 10%.
- Board size 1200mm x 600mm (0.72m²): thickness 150mm; 8 boards per pack (5.76m²).
- Manufactured to BS EN 13163:2012+A2:2016: produced under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified management systems.
- PVC cables must be protected within a suitable conduit to prevent plasticiser migration.
- Store flat on a firm, level base, protected from sunlight and UV exposure.
- Always refer to the Stylite EWI datasheet and system provider's guidance before installing.
At 150mm, graphite EPS gives a wall a deep, high-resistance layer in one board, provided the building height and the system detailing suit it.
