80mm EPS External Wall Insulation 1200mm x 600mm - 0.72m2 per sheet

Sold in packs of 15

80mm EPS External Wall Insulation is a graphite-enhanced expanded polystyrene (EPS) field board specified where a solid-wall upgrade has a U-value target to hit. At 80mm it is a compliance-grade thickness, going on across the whole elevation to bring a solid or framed building toward the standard required for a thermal-element upgrade, finished within a render system.

Each board measures 1200mm x 600mm and covers 0.72m², supplied 15 boards to a pack for 10.80m² of coverage. It carries a declared thermal conductivity of 0.030 W/mK, a PlusTherm 70 grade with 70 kPa compressive strength at 10% deformation, and a calculated thermal resistance of 2.65 m²K/W* at 80mm. Across a full elevation that is a substantial, continuous layer of resistance working toward the wall's target U-value.

Insulating on the outside is what gives external wall insulation its edge over an internal layer. An 80mm field wraps the building in a single unbroken blanket, carrying past floor slabs, party-wall junctions and intermediate structure that stop an internal lining dead. Those junctions are exactly where heat escapes and where cold spots and condensation gather, so keeping the layer continuous across them lifts the real-world performance of the wall, not just the figure on the calculation. It also keeps the masonry itself warm, holding the structure's thermal mass on the inside of the insulation.

80mm EPS External Wall Insulation is bonded to a clean, sound substrate with EWI adhesive, mechanically anchored, then reinforced with a basecoat and mesh and finished with a weatherproof render, installed to SPI's guidance and the render system provider's specification. It suits solid brickwork, timber frame and steel frame construction on wall applications up to 18m, and is a common specified thickness on solid-wall retrofits where compliance with a set U-value is the goal. The achieved U-value always depends on the full wall build-up, so confirm it against the project specification. As with all EPS, the finished fire performance and durability are properties of the complete system, not the board alone.

Key Benefits of 80mm EPS External Wall Insulation:

  • 80mm graphite-enhanced EPS field board, a compliance-grade thickness for solid-wall U-value targets.
  • Calculated thermal resistance of 2.65 m²K/W* at 80mm.
  • Declared thermal conductivity of 0.030 W/mK.
  • Fixed externally to wrap the building in one continuous layer, carrying past floor and wall junctions.
  • Keeps the masonry warm on the inside of the insulation and helps reduce cold spots and condensation.
  • PlusTherm 70 grade with 70 kPa compressive strength at 10% deformation.
  • Suitable for solid brickwork, timber frame and steel frame construction up to 18m.
  • Compatible with adhesive and mechanically fixed EWI systems and thin-coat renders.
  • Reaction to fire Euroclass E to BS EN 13501-1, with no loss of thermal performance over time.
  • 100% recyclable with a BRE Green Guide rating A+, and no CFCs, HCFCs or HFCs (zero GWP).

Good to know:

  • Grade: PlusTherm 70: thermal conductivity 0.030 W/mK; compressive strength 70 kPa at 10%.
  • Board size 1200mm x 600mm (0.72m²): thickness 80mm; 15 boards per pack (10.80m²).
  • Manufactured to BS EN 13163:2012+A2:2016: ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
  • PVC cables must be protected within a suitable conduit to prevent plasticiser migration.
  • Store flat on a firm, level base, protected from sunlight and UV exposure.
  • Always refer to the Stylite EWI datasheet and system provider's guidance before installing.
