50mm Recticel Eurothane GP PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet

50mm Recticel Eurothane GP PIR Insulation Board 2.4m x 1.2m - 2.88m2 per sheet

At 50mm, Recticel Eurothane GP moves into its higher compressive-strength tier, which makes it a natural choice for floor insulation as well as walls and roofs. The board is a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) core faced both sides with gas-tight foil, designed for pitched roofs, timber and metal framed walls and floors, and rated for use over both wet and electric underfloor heating.

Supplied as a 2400mm x 1200mm board covering 2.88m², the 50mm thickness pairs a thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK with a thermal resistance of around 2.25 m²K/W. Its compressive strength of at least 140 kPa, a step up from the thinner boards in the range, lets it stand up to the loadings found in screeded and chipboard floor build-ups.

The foil facings on each side keep moisture vapour resistance high and help the board hold its rated performance over the life of the build. Square edges butt together cleanly across the floor, wall or roof plane: tape or fill the joints as specified and the insulation layer stays continuous, which is what keeps thermal bridging down.

On site it works across new build and refurbishment, fitting between and over joists, beneath screeds, between or over studs in framed walls, and between rafters in pitched roofs. Install it to the current Recticel technical guidance, the relevant specification guide and the project specification. Light to lift and quick to score and cut with a sharp knife or fine-toothed saw, it keeps fitting manageable even over larger floor areas.

Key Benefits of 50mm Recticel Eurothane GP:

  • Compressive strength of at least 140 kPa, a step up from the thinner boards, suited to floor build-ups.
  • 0.022 W/mK thermal conductivity, giving around 2.25 m²K/W of thermal resistance from a single 50mm layer.
  • Rigid PIR board for pitched roofs, timber and metal framed walls and floors.
  • Rated for use over wet and electric underfloor heating, including beneath a screed.
  • Gas-tight foil facings on both sides for high moisture vapour resistance and lasting performance.
  • Square edges for tight butt-jointing and reduced thermal bridging.
  • Suitable beneath screeded and chipboard floor finishes.
  • Light to handle and easy to cut to size on site.
  • Stable in damp conditions, holding its thermal performance over time.
  • Blown with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP) agents, free from CFCs and HCFCs.
  • Reaction to fire classified Euroclass F to BS EN 13501-1.

Good to know:

  • PIR is moisture resistant but not waterproof. Keep boards dry, off the ground and covered, out of direct sunlight, and set aside any that have got wet.
  • One board is 2.4m x 1.2m and covers 2.88m².
  • Cuts cleanly with a sharp knife or insulation saw.
  • Need a non-standard size? Our bespoke cutting service can help.
  • Recticel's pitched roof specification guide covers roof build-ups.
  • Recticel's floor specification guide walks through solid and under-screed floor types.

A robust 50mm board that holds its own in floors as readily as walls and roofs, Recticel Eurothane GP keeps specification simple while delivering the thermal performance and durability a build needs.
