12.5mm Siniat GTEC Standard Wallboard (Tapered Edge) 2400mm x 1200mm
Siniat GTEC Standard Board is a general purpose plasterboard used across thousands of domestic and commercial projects every year. It goes up on partition walls, wall linings and ceilings, and it does the job reliably and consistently. The board is made from a gypsum core wrapped in recycled paper liners, ivory on the front and grey on the back, and it can be taped and jointed or skimmed depending on the finish you are after.
This is the 12.5mm tapered edge version in the full 2400 x 1200mm sheet size — also known on site as an 8x4. The tapered edges run along the long sides of the board, which means when two boards meet at a joint you have a recessed channel to fill with jointing compound. Tape it, fill it, feather it out and you end up with a smooth, flat surface that is ready to decorate. It is the most widely used board format on site for a reason.
The board achieves a Euroclass A2-s1, d0 fire rating, meaning it has limited combustibility, produces very little smoke and generates no burning droplets in a fire situation. It scores and snaps cleanly without power tools and takes screws well into timber or metal studwork.
Benefits
- Suitable for partitions, wall linings and ceilings in domestic and commercial projects
- Tapered edge for tape and joint applications and a seamless, paintable finish
- Euroclass A2-s1, d0 fire rated — limited combustibility, very low smoke, no burning droplets
- Can be taped and jointed or skimmed depending on finish requirement
- Score and snap to size, no power tools needed
- Recycled paper liners, less than 2% moisture content
Good to know
- Size: 2400 x 1200 x 12.5mm; edge: tapered; weight: 23.0 kg per board
- Thermal conductivity: 0.19 W/mK; water vapour resistance factor: 10
- Use High Thread screws for timber, Self Tapping for light gauge metal up to 0.7mm, Self Drilling for metal up to 2.5mm
- Prime with GTEC Universal Sealer before painting or decorating
- Service life: 60 years
- Always refer to the Siniat GTEC Standard Board technical datasheet before installation
